engineered flooring - advice please

Hi all,

Just about to purchase 32sq metres of engineered wood flooring to be installed over 2 rooms with an intersection.

First time buyer of wood flooring - looking at an engineered 3 strip satin finish dark floor with each room/section to have a threshold.

Thickness 7mm or 14.5mm plus 2 in 1 underlay with DPM and vapour barrier to be installed on a concrete subfloor.

I'd be grateful for advice on a couple of points - namely what are the shortcomings of 7mm thick flooring - my budget is around 20sq metre - I'm struggling to find anything thicker for that money, secondly should I go for a loc/clip system as opposed to tongue and groove (which requires gluing I believe).

Any pointers/advice gratefully received.

best

A lock system will be easier to install.

Purchase the best grade you can afford.

That's a lot of flooring, ensure you have the recommended gap and transitions installed.
