engineered floor- which brand is good?

I would like to have engineered wood that is 5 inch wide plank for my living room. Other than Mirage (they don't have the color I want for 5 inch) what other brand should I look for?

Shaw has a new product called Epic that seems to be quite good. It's has a non-directional laminate type core with a real hardwood top and a wooden base layer.

I install alot of Mohawk engineered hardwood. Good stuff:thumbup:

Mohawk may have some good products but I'd still avoid them. If you ever have a problem good luck getting them to do anything about it. They have the most ridiculous claims department I've ever had to deal with.

I guess I have a good sales rep. I had a problem with lippage about 2 months ago with a 3/4" solid. My sales went out inspected it and reordered it the same day and payed our price to remove and reinstall, no questions asked.
With him I get better service than any other manufacturer.

Bruce is the worst I have seen.

Maybe it's a regional thing. The reps around here cater to Carpet One above all else.

Don't they all cater to Carpet One.

They better! :)

Nope, we are a Shaw Alliance dealer now and Carpet One barely sees the Shaw rep. A lot of that is the local Carpet One though. They are plain out horrible, both in quality of installation and outrageous pricing. They just don't do enough business for Shaw to bother with them much anymore.
