Eco Silent vs Insulayment vs 15lb felt underlayment
Application: main level 3/4 hardwood naildown/staple over 3/4 OSB above an unfinished basement in Calgary Canada (cold dry climate), to be used in living room/kitchen.
Yes I've read ALL the underlayment post on this forum and others and I'm 90% sure the felt is the way to go (paper will suffice but felt wont hurt) but can anyone please answer why the Lumber liquidators products are bad? They aren't all that expensive so cost is not an issue but surely they must have some noise and thermal benefits. Eco silent is their so I get why they would push this but quietwalk is not.
Will any of these actually unnecessarily trap moisture vs letting the floor breathe?
What am I not getting with all those positive reviews, is LL a flooring joke of some sorts? Are these products not really designed exclusively for naildown hardwood and it's just about making an extra buck?
