Easy to install, CHEAP, nice looking flooring

I face a true challenge! I am untalented, have practically no budget, rescued a dog who is long on toenails but short on bladder and am picky about how a floor should look. I need to replace my family room floor which is old carpet over whatever wood flooring they use on crawlspace construction. I thought I had found the answer when I found a flooring called Allure at Home Depot, but was disappointed to learn from blogs that sometimes a horrible odor can sometimes come from flooring and seams sometimes pull apart. Does anyone have experience with this flooring or any other suggestions given my limitations. Thanks

I just posted the possibility of using wood look vinyl sheet flooring on a post about trying to urine proof hardwood and who gave up and was going to use a vinyl panel sort of system. It seems to me that if leaky pet bladders are in issue, something with as few joints as possible makes the most sense? Sheet vinyl flooring is relatively inexpensive to purchase and have installed. You can get it to simulate anything from stone, to marble and wood but it will not fool anyone. It looks as nice as it can for what it is. It will give off vapors for a short time after installation. Here is one link to the Armstrong site.
