DuPont Laminate in Bathroom and kitchen
Hi guys, my wife and I are not the best tilers in the world so we are thinking of using the DuPont Elite flooring that looks like tile, we like the black slate style. As its a floating floor I guess we fit the kitchen cabs first then lay it next to them. As for our small bathroom we could fit it without too many worries. Our only concerns is the level of water resistance we will achieve using this product, any comments on this?

I know some will disagree, but if you tend to get much water on the floor, like children when they bathe or have a dog's water dish on it, etc. it can ruin the floor. Laminate is not supposed to handle water in the joints. The inspectors on the other boards are always talking about failure due to water.

If you feel you cannot clean up water issues quickly then pick another flooring.
If you have control over those sorts of things then you will be fine.
Water touching a seam is not a problem.
Water STAYING on the seam is.

Maybe tile in the bathroom would be a better option, we have a small child, so spills will happen.
