DIY spot fixing of contractor's wood floor refinishing

I just bought my first house - a charming 1870s home. I decided to refinish the wood floors before moving in. Unfortunately, I have had some issues with the contractor who completed the floor refinishing. I honestly don't really want to call him back to fix his work because I kind of just want my business completed with him. He left runs of polyurethane finish at various places on my living room floor.

Do you know if I can spot fix these areas myself? I don't want to have to redo the entire floor again if I don't have to. If so - what are the steps you would take to do this?
