I am not sure if this is the right place for this post but if any one knows how to Dye a carpet I would appreciat the help thanks.

I think that I'd leave this one to the pros. You may also find that the cost of dyeing may not be that much less than new carpet bought at a remnant store.

Can't afford a new one not with the prices here. But the dyes are okay and we have a sprayer.

I'm not one to shy away from a good DIY project, but Teetor has a point
I've never done a floor carpet, but I have dyed a few carpets for auto resto projects
I can tell you:

1) The cheap dyes don't work
They look bad, go on bad, stay dyed bad
2) The good dyes aren't cheap, and the process must be done carefully

The only reasons we dye auto carpet are:
1) It's a custom color not manufactured
2) Replacement carpet is not made for that model car, and we have to use a junkyard salvage carpet the wrong color

Although technically the outlay of cash for materials is slightly less to dye, it's not really a cost effective alternative when the time, effort, inconvenience, and potential for disaster are factored in

just something to add, It would take a lot of work, cuz you would either have to take the carpets out and do the dying outside or something, or do a LOT of taping off and putting tarps on the walls so you dont get dye all over the walls.

Let's not forget that some fibers CANNOT be dyed.
A Polyester for example will not take the dye.
