Ditra

Does anyone know if this product is endorsed, by TTMAC or any other authority?

ABSOLUTELY! All Schluter products have the blessing of all testing and authorative entities. Go to either the Schluter Canada or the TTMAC websites and check it out.

I did look at the Ttacc website and did not see anything. We were told that mesh was the obly thing that they endorsed but I could not seen that either.

It's there from what I saw in a brief search. I verified that before I made my post here just to be sure. The TTMAC is nothing more than the Canadian version of the American authorities. You probably won't find it mentioned by name brand just as the TCNA doesn't mention any name brands. Testing of the product by name brand is mentioned there however.

For what its worth. I tiled my Kitchen and foyer floors (about 450 sq ft)using Ditra instead of Mud or wonder board. It worked great. Its been down over a year and no issues.

You need to make sure that the beams can support tile and that you have enough plywood.

Ditra

It is the magic bullet! More tile setters should be using it.
But they resist change.....you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink......
It should be called for as spec'ed underlayment for any tile job, if it was it would solve many tile issues.
It is approved by the TTMAC the TCA and it is the ABCs of tile installs.
