Diamond design

Would it take more tiles to do a room in a diamond design?

usually.... It's a safe bet to add another 5% for waste.

Adding 5% won't get it, it's more like 25 to 30 percent. Just depends on the size of the tiles. The bigger the tiles the more waste you will have.

I usually recommend the standard 15% waste for diagonal tiles... But 20% would be a safe bet. We don't get too many people coming back needing more tiles bit as a previous poster said the size tile and the shape and dimensions of the room could affect amount of waste.

30 seems a little excessive, but to each their own... I shoot for 10% extra for waste normally, and I'll tack on 5% more when doing a diagonal layout...
