dark stains on wood floor

im new at the floor thing.
i bought this house that built in 1951. under the nasty carpet that had to come out i found these gorgeous wood floors.
i have stripped and sanded one 10x11 room but there are some dark spots on the floor...looks like a drink spilled many years ago and didnt get cleaned up.

im thinking im not gonna get them sanded out cus they are in the grain. if i stain it lightly are the gonna show really bad? can i put reg bleach on it and attempt to fade them some?

thanks

More likly pets stains.
Going to have to sand them out or stip the whole floor and stain a darker color.

More than likely the stains are from pets as stated previously. They will not come out by sanding more than likely. You can cut that part of the floor out and replace it. There are many posts in the archives covering this procedure.

well its getting to hot to have the a/c off for such a long time! there is no way i want to replace any boards so i guess il just stain it dark and see what happens then.
let me explain:
i have multiple sclerosis, with my health issues it has taken me over a month just to strip and sand this floor in my 11 year old daughter's bedroom. with ms the heat is something i can not handle. i work on the floor maybe 2 hours a day at most and then my body is shot for another day or 2. that is why it is taking me so long. on the bright side this floor is my "therapy" it has taken my mind off problems and helps relieve my stress.

i dont expect it to be a perfect professional looking job but it will look better and ill have the self satisfaction not to mention the self worth!

thank you everybody for providing me with information to do this and all the good advise on things.

if i can do it anybody can!!!

Unfortunately, I don't thin bleach will help. Your best bet is to either remove and replace the stained boards, or maybe stain the floor a darker color to help hide them.
