Cutting Hard Porcelain Floor Tile With A Manual Tile Cutter

Is it possible to cut hard porcelain floor tile with a manual tile cutter? I'm talking like PEI IV, with slight texture variations on the surface of the tile. My tile cutter cuts softer tiles, like wall tiles, with total ease. But when I try to cut a hard porcelain floor tile in there, it's nearly impossible for me to get a straight snap/cut. I have a couple wet saws, so I can still get the job done, but using a manual tile cutter would be easier, faster, and cleaner. So does anyone have any tips for doing this? Thanks!

Smooth porcelain tile cut well with a scratch and snap cutter----textured tile of any kind is often a failure with that tool----use your wet saw---

I have a Rubi TS-60 and I used to have excellent luck on smooth porcelain up to 3/8" thick.

I also had good luck with a moderately textured porcelain.

My only tip is to use a smaller wheel with the heavier texture.

I guess it either works or it doesn't. If it doesn't, don't sweat it.

Thanks, I'll see if a smaller cutting wheel will work.

I have grade 5 commercial porcellain tile in my house, nothing I tried worked to cut this stuff except a wet saw, those mostly plastic tile cutters you place the tile in on, score and then squeeze the handle down to snap are crap, I tossed it and bought a cheap electric diamond wet saw and it worked perfectly.
The one I have looks like a mini table saw, all metal, with about a 5 or 6" blade, guide, guard.
Porcellain is WAY harder than ceramic or thin wall tiles.
