cutting 18" tile

Any ideas to cut 18" tile...the rentals at home depot only cut up to 12" tile??

Check a dedicated equipment rental place. HD rentals are pretty limited in my experience.

A ninety dollar saw to cut 18" stone? Heck, the proper blade alone might cost more than that?

You're right I meant to say tile, I had travertine on my mind from another thread. Actually travertine is softer than most tiles. Either way you wouldn't want to have to cut very many with a saw like that. Some cuts, you couldn't even do at all.

Depending on how many, might be a good idea to have them cut unless you're a seasoned DIY'er. Heck, if all the cuts get covered with moldings, you could use a side grinder. If straight cuts rent or borrow a cutter and have the L and U cuts done on a larger saw.

i`M NOT A PRO AT THIS BUT Iwas told that the grinder heated the tile too much and caused stress cracks ?????just done my own bathrooms etc.
