cracks on slab, problem for tile?

I pulled the carpet up and found some cracks in the slab. They run almost 18 feet across the room. We wanted to put 20" tile down with one of those anti movement pads. Will we be okay with these cracks or is wood flooring a better option. I only in a small area is the crack perhaps 1/32" higher on one side, if even that much.
