Question

Covering/painting stained linoleum

Hi. I am about to put my house on the market. I fixed everything up, then remembered that the laundry room's linoleum floor is stained.

There's nothing wrong with it: at one point long ago, I guess a washing machine spilled some water onto it, and the previous owner let it sit or something. In any event, it looks both yellowed and rust-stained. The stains do not come up with any cleaning solvent I have tried.

I don't really have the time or resources to pull out the laundry machines and replace the floor. So can anyone recommend a way to make it look nicer without making it look like I'm trying to hide something?

I have heard you can paint linoleum. Is that true? And if so, what kind of paint? I assume I don't want to use the flat acrylic I have been using on the walls...

Thanks!

"Painting linoleum floor" That would be interesting.
I would just get a really nice floor mat and show the house that way.
