Congoleum Vinyl Flooring dirty all the time

We put Congoleum Vinyl Flooring down 6 years ago and each time you clean it , still dirty. You can clean or wash it 3 or 4 times one after the other and it is still dirty.

I don't know what I have to do to get it clean, it's been like this ever since we have had it.

Wrote Congoleum and they never returned any answer. It was there best Vinyl Flooring.

Can someone please tell me what to do.
Should I put polish or wax on it?

Most likely it has nothing to do with the flooring, it's what's under it.
What was it laid over.
If it was louon, then that's it.
It has not been approved for many years as an underlayment.
It has voids, can cause glues to release, and in your cause color bleed through.
Why is it still for sale? Same reason you can still buy particle board, Cellotex, electroplated galvanized screws, people keep buying it.

Congoleum Vinyl Flooring dirty all the time

I got the underlayment from where I got the Congoleum Vinyl Flooring and he was in business for 30 years, so he should have known what to use.

Is there anything that we can do now?

What would cause this to come through?
I am not sure if it was this underlayment.

Was a moisture test done before the underlayment went in?
How long ago was it laid?
This is what should have gone in.

It was common years ago to use louon, from what I've been told by flooring manufactures and read is most of it is imported, in order for it to be allowed into the county it had to be treated with pesticides which is causing some of the issues. The tannins in the wood are bleeding out.

Do not wax it. Wax or polish will make it duller, vinyl has been no wax for many years. Go to a carpet store, not a big box, and buy some Congoleum vinyl floor cleaner. It should restore the shine.

I know for a fact now that it was 1/4 inch plywood that we used.
