concrete sealer on slate tile?

I've got some leftover concrete sealer from my basement floor and was wondering if anyone has ever ventured to use it on natural slate? It's an acrylic sealer. The price of the slate sealer at the store has left me wondering if concrete sealer will work just as well.

I should work, although to be safe apply to one piece only. Wait 2 weeks and check durability by slightly scratching the surface with a screwdriver.
