Concrete Pavers and Stain

I built a concrete patio and used a concrete stamp to make it look like pavers. I need to know do I stain the concrete first and then and the Quikrete Power-lock sand to hold it together or the other way around? I don't think it matters but would like to know what you think.

I think it depends on whether you want the joints to be the same color as the concrete, or if you want them to stand out and contrast the concrete.
