cleaning a bamboo floor

What's the best way to clean a bamboo floor? When you look closely, you can see several smal scratches, etc. We're moving and want to leave it behind in a good condition. Is it possible to polish them?
I looked at professional floor cleaning services (Stanley Steemer), but none of them mentions bamboo floors.

If you have scratches with dirt, a toothbrush works well to clean them.

We use a steam mop on ours (despite what the article says) and it seems to work well. I think when we move we'll need to have ours refinished.

Thanks for the replies - we may have to end up refinishing it.

Thanks, but I don't see anything about cleaning a bamboo floor on that page, just products for hardwood floors in general.

I wonder if acrylic floor "wax" would perk it up?

I meant to say that any hardwood flooring cleaner is good, even for bamboo floors...in my experience.

I read a lot of warnings about bamboo, since it is a grass, not a wood, and needs different treatment. I'll go figure out what the manufacturer is, and see what they recommend.

I would suggest that you are actually cleaning whatever the finish is on the floor and not the bamboo unless the finish is completely shot. If the finish is alright it is probably a coating or two of urethane and you should be able to buff it as you would on any hardwood floor.

Due to time constraints, we ended up having Molly Maids come in and clean after our move. No idea what they used, and no idea what it looks like now. The landlord did not have any complaints.

You should clean floor after installation. Use a lightly dampened mop with no-wax floor cleaner specifically formulated for hardwood floors preferably non-toxic, environmentally safe products.
