Cheap Fix

I am in a rental home and the flooring in kitchen and small foyer is tile. The dog shredded some of the fibers by the foyer and I was thinking of putting some kind of transition molding there. What would be cheapest and easiest way to do that and what would I buy? HELP!

Cheap Fix

Gold or silver flat metal. Cut to fit and nail it down, if it;s a wood floor. A little more complicated on concrete.
