Is there any concrete coating or resurfacing product that you can apply over Chattahoochee?
My pool patio is all Chattahoochee and it looks like crap but I really donít want to take an air chisel to the whole thing.
Chattahoochee has proven to be problematic in some climates of the country. This product is known by several names and products seem to vary in that the matrix used to bond and suspend the aggregate also varies. Claims have been made that these products can be suitable for northern freeze/thaw applications but I would beg to strongly differ. I have seen first hand quite the opposite.
My recommendation would be to remove the product and start fresh.
These products in theory would typically offer a great bonding surface for tile because of their very coarse characteristics but the problem is "how well are they bonded"? Their bond to the substrate is what you are depending on to assure you a successful re bonding of a new surface.
The use of any other deck surfacing products would obviously telegraph through the surface of the new application if the old was not first removed.
