Ceramic Tiling on a Slab

I'm planning on tiling my lower level bathroom that is on a slab (Quad-Level Home). Do I need to lay any backerboard down or should I be able to just tile on the cement slab?

Although I cannot tell from experience as I just using it yesterday... but after I did all research... ditra seems a good choice....

laying direct is the cheapest way of doing it, and most contractors do I believe unless home owner asked for it in particular... why would they cost more to do it for you to cut their profit...

but ditra seems built to last...

No backerboard on cement. You can tile directly to the cement if it is in good condition: no paint or other residue, no cracks and cured.
