Ceramic tile over Behr solid concrete stain

Is it possible to install ceramic tile on an outside patio in Florida (no freeze cycles) that has had Behr solid concrete stain applied. I was told that the stain would be a bond breaker. This is only a 144 square foot patio, but I don't want to have to grind all the stain off. Any suggestions?

I think you will need to grind that off,too.--Rent a floor buffer with carborundum stones---should be a quick job.

Call Latacrete customer service if you want the okay to go over that sealer---they may have a product that will work.

Thanks for the responses. I will try my local big box and see if they have the carborundum pad that was suggested. This sounds a lot easier than using a grinder. Long time lurker, I usually have any questions answered by viewing the forums. Just tiled a bathroom using the info on here. Turned out great by the way. Thanks everybody.

Those carborundum block pads are very common---If the Depot doesn't have it --a local rental shop will---
