Question

Carpeting over concrete

What is a good carpet and pad for a room with a concrete floor? The room is a sunken room (3 feet lower than that rest of house). The land under it sloped from nothing down to 8 feet, so it was filled with alot of large rocks and dirt until it was level. then the concrete was poured on top. This was done about 20 years ago. I don't know if underground moisture would be a problem since it is not part of the regular ground.

Can't think of the name, but there is a pad that resists moisture and then you can use whatever carpet you like.

It's called Enviro-Cushion. Made in Mexico, Fairway Tile & Carpet in Clawson Mi is/was (?) the only place you could buy it in the USA. Not sure if it's still the case. Last time I checked it was about $1 per sq. ft., probably more now. Can ship anywhere.

For concrete floors (100% Waterproof, No Chlorofluocarbons, 4.5 R factor, 100% Non Alergenic, 3/8" thick, 15 lb. Density Feel).

I've shipped a few dozen rolls, several years ago.
