carpeted stairs vs. wood stairs

Is there a danger in installing wood floors today as opposed to carpeted stairs? What are my options?:(

Wood stairs look nice, but I don't like them in my own home.

You could also do wood stairs with carpet runner. Carpet treads with wood risers... Lots of options

My house will always have carpet stairs, though...
I grew up in a house with wood stairs and let's just say there are many-a-times I had a sore butt.

No, there is no danger to installing woodstairs, in relation to carpeted stairs.

Personally, I love wood stairs.

One job, last week, involved ripping up carpet and installing red oak treads and risers = HUGE improvement. (We also just did an estimate for the same at another residence). Very often, owners are deciding to rip out the carpet and go with wood (common upgrade).
