carpet to tile transition

Can any body tell me how thick the subfloor needs to be for 1/4" floor tile, for a bathroom floor and how exactly do you install the marble transition from tile to carpet elevation wise?

1/4 to 1/2 thick concrete board will work.

the carpet should be stretched up to the tile.
Schluter bar should be used under the tile for a complete look.
