Carpet Tile and Baseboard Installation
I am installing carpet tile (TrafficMaster Best Practice commercial grade tile 24"x24") in my new "man room".
It's a small job about 230' sq and I would like to finish off the room with baseboards. I have read that baseboards are typically installed first leaving a gap on bottom of approx 1/4" to leave room for carpeting.
I can see the logic in this to some degree but doesn't it make more sense to install the carpet tiles butted up to the wall and then install the baseboards so they can be brought as close to the top of the carept tile as possible so there is no chance of an unsightly gap between the carpet tile and baseboard?
In your case you are correct, - DO IT your way!
