Carpet stair runner last riser

I'm trying to figure out the best way to finish installing a carpet runner on my hardwood basement stairs. The two carpets are different colors.

Since I don't currently have a stair nose, i'm thinking of just cutting the runner at the bottom of the riser.

Or is there a good nose trim i can install so I can carpet up the last riser?

Of course Lowe's didn't have anything in stock.

Would this work? Bringing the carpet up the riser to the nose, and tucking the carpet on the floor under the thin part of the trim?
