Carpet pad insulation

I am in the process of finishing a Bonus room over my garage. The room was floored and there were stairs going up to it as well. I am nearing the carpeting stage and was wondering if anyone had an suggestions for carpet pad that will help the insulation of heat from the garage. I have tried to do a little research but haven't come up with any definite answers. Just wanted to have some knowledge before I go shopping for carpeting.

A good thick fiber pad will not be super comfy, but will provide plenty of warmth.

Can you add insulation between the garage and the bonus room?

I probably could but hated to rip up the flooring or the drywall ceiling of the garage.
