carpet/laminate flooring

I have a question. My dogs tore up my carpet entering my bedroom of a rental house. It runs from the doorway and into the room about a 2'X2' area. Is there a way i can pull up that carpet and put a laminate flooring just in that area and leave the rest carpeted?

thanks
