Carpet install & basement wet bar

As part of finishing the basement we are doing a wet bar in the basement rec room. I know the cabinets should go in before the carpet of the rec room, but that is not possible for me right now. So, what should I have the carpet installers do? I can think of two things:
1) Put plywood down that is cabinet depth and have the installers go ahead and put tack strip along the plywood and install up to it.
2) Have the installers put the carpet in as if the wet bar would not be there and cut the carpet out (and tack strip) when I install the cabinets. This would mean I have someone come in and redo the tack strip and stretch the carpet back in.

Right now I am leaning toward option 2. What do you guys think? Any other ideas that might be better?
