Carpet Buying Questions

What's up all,

Will be having carpet installed soon on my 2nd floor and steps coming down to 1st floor. Lowe's is offering 18 months no interest next week in my area, so I will be taking advantage of this to get my carpet and padding.

Lowe's has readily available carpet on rolls that they will cut onsite for you. The cost is cheaper, so I am wondering if anyone has used this carpet and has any opinions on it. How much should I be spending to know I am getting a decent product and is there anything in particular I should look at if I choose this carpet.

Also, I know nothing about padding. I am doing a little research online, but really not coming to any conclusions. Can anyone provide any information on what I should be looking for?

Thanks
Branden

Would need to know a lot more about the carpet to help you. Weight, type of yarn, etc. With the pad, 1/2" 8 lb., unless you are getting berber carpet.

The Nitro would be the best because nylon yarn is second only to wool in quality. Polyester yarn will mat down over time.

Carpet Buying Questions

I've been googling reviews for installers as much as for the carpet. Good luck.

Quality of the padding will have a lot to do with how much life you get out of any carpet.
