Butting new floor carpet to temporary old stair carpet
We currently have carpeting on our 3rd floor and the stairs leading up to it. We are installing new carpeting on the floor now and plan to replace the carpeted stairs with hardwood at a later date. How do we end the new carpeting where it will butt to the old carpeted stairs now, so the transition will look correct when we replace the old carpeted stairs with wood later?
You would want to wrap the top bullnose edge with the new carpet.
Keep extra Carpet attached and wrap in backwards so that when you go to do the wood steps you will have the extra that you will need.
