Question

Bullnose Tile - how to do it?

I have a bathroom in my house that I am working on. I've purchased some 12x12 tile that I need to bullnose for pieces that will be at the top of the shower, and on the step into the shower.

Any advice on how to have this done? The guy at Home Depot said that tile doesn't have any bullnose pieces I can purchase.

Thanks in advance

I don't do tile work myself, but you can cut at an angle if your tile saw is able to mitre ... I've also seen a demo of a rounded edge diamond blade that cuts rounded bullnose.

Bullnose Tile - how to do it?

I think the rounded edge diamond blade would probably be close to what I'm looking for. Is there a way to get a "half circle" and not just a quarter circle?

A cut at 45 degrees just won't work for me here.

You can buy a profile wheel to make the bullnose at http://www.tiletools.com for around $160 I think. Once the tile has been profiled you will see the raw edge of the tiles bisque and that usually isn't at all desirable.

How about using a metal tile edging instead?

I would also suggest the metal edging or black, whatever matches your design.
