We are converting a 3 season porch to a 4 season. Is it ok to use 2x2s on top of 2x8 floor joists to add height to the porch floor without having to build up to the plywood to match the current house floor level? We are about 3.25 inches lower than the top of our hardwood floors in the dining room that the porch would transition into. Any other suggestions if this is not an option? Thanks!
Are you stripping the old sub floor of to expose the floor joists?
Thinking of adding these 2x2 furring strips on top of the existing floor?
Is the floor reasonably level? Often porch floors are pitched for drainage.---Mike---
