Bringing Old Hardwood Back To Life
The house was built in 1966, with REAL hardwood floors. The original owners (we are owner number 3) put carpeting down over ALL the floors (the hardwood floors are all over the first floor).
We pulled the carpeting up, and the floor underneath looks great.
We've decided to keep the floor, rather than carpet or tile over it, but have just one issue.
We are prepared to completely redo the floor; strip it down, re-stain it, and a top coat of polyurethane. It appears to have a coat of wax on top and we have used a household cleaner to remove what we THINK is all of the wax. As a precaution I believe we should use a bonified wax removal product that is safe for hardwood floors. Can anyone recommend a product?
Thanks in advance,
Midicat
