Beyond the basics of flooring.

I have installed more floating floor than i care to remember. I just started my first nail down hardwood flooring project and need some info on how to complete.
Using a floor nailer across the room is a no-brainer, if there is enough space, use it. However, I am now at the last 12 inches and need to know to best way to complete it. I am nailing down a pre-finished 3/4 hardwood - maple to be exact.
I pre-drilled and nailed my first two or three courses to get started, but my skill is not the best with a hammer and nails, especially finish nails. I want to find better options for the last few courses. Nailing that close to the wall would just be an exercise in frustration for me.
I am wondering about using a crown stapler or heavy finish nailer. Something that would shoot a 2" staple or nail. Getting the angle is less daunting than hand nailing it. Any advice out there?
