between flooring threshold

Looking for some recommendations on what to do with the seperation and slight difference in height between these two floors - in the closet we are putting a vinyl wood looking plank that just gets glued down.

Guess the question is do I bring it right to the rug? do I end it where the gap is, in which case what do I do with the 3-4 inches between the rug and the new plank floor?

LOL what do I look like a custom woodworking shop? I don't think I have the tools required to "mill" a threshold out of oak.

Re: between flooring threshold

All you need is a table saw and a router.

Re: between flooring threshold

The gentleman doesn't have a tablesaw or a router.

You can make one with a plane and some sandpaper though. But there's other alternatives to a wood threshold that will stand out like a sore thumb. Might not look so good there.

I actually do have a table saw, but lack the router... anyone have a pic of what the final product might look like?

Re: between flooring threshold

Do a little research on "oak threshold" then head to the big box store. You will probably find something you will only need to cut to length.
