Best flooring outlet or store

Hello,

I am putting flooring in my first house. I need to know where I can get good floors for cheap, wholesale perhaps. I am on a budget, and I know someone's had good experiences with certian outlets, mills, etc. Please help!

are you a contractor or just a buyer?

Cheap = Big box in stock.
Good prices = Carpetone or Flooring America.

In the past I had a good experience with S&S Mills online purchase. Not sure I saved $$ over buying locally.
http://www.ssmills.com/ compare prices locally and see where you are at.

I have also shopped at a local remnant outlet for Carpet One.
http://www.carpetone.com/home
I picked up a roll end of a commercial style carpet there. Was cheaper than in store prices.

Recently bought discount carpet at
Avalon carpet
http://www.avaloncarpettile.com/ On sale, in stock, berber through their Wilmington DE location.

Lumber Liquidators is the big name.

Also, HD usually has Bruce Oak floors for pretty cheap. The last time they were on sale for $2.99/sq. ft.

For hard wood flooring, I recommend:

* Internet Lumber (internetlumber.com), great source of unfinished hardwoods at excellent prices, they also sell high-quality engineered wood floors.

* Fastfloors.com is similar - prices vary but you can pick up some good deals.

* iFloor.com can also have deals.

These three seem to run deals that beat Lumber Liquidators. If you go to your local hardwood floor dealership, there's a very good chance they will purchase hardwood flooring at the same price you'll get from these three online dealers. You can order samples from them -- and it's worth it taking the time and spending the extra $10 (per sample) to do this. In the end, you'll save substantially over the Big Box Home Despots and have the chance to put more money into the product. The online stores are especially good deals if you are searching for unfinished hardwood flooring.

I got a post card in the mail yesterday stating Lumber Liquidators is having a huge Hardwood Flooring sale this weekend! I called my local store and they said it was their biggest sale of the year!

We ordered our floor a week ago from "LL". I wonder if they will give me the sale price on my order when it comes in, if during the sale.
