Best carpet tiles for basement?

What are the best carpet tiles for a basement?

I get water in every 5 years or so, so something not ultra-expensive, or perhaps something that I can extract the water from easily.

The other problem is the baseboards are 3/4" off the surface, so preferably a carpet tile about that thick so that there isn't a gap. (I'd rather not take out baseboards and reinstall them if possible.

Do you have any suggestions of what I should go with?

TIA

Hi Tia,

I would suggest you look into carpet tiles that are specifically developed for basements.
These are 100% waterproof, floating, interlocking tiles that are raised from the slab by pegs, creating a space between the concrete and the carpet that allows air to circulate and dry the slab when it is wet.
If your basement ever floods, you can take them off, dry them out and put them back.

You could check out http://www.bigfloors.com/Snap-Carpet-P17C3.aspx

I have used the GarageDeck product in my laundry area, and it worked great. The link shows the carpeted ones they have. the nice thing is that they all interlock together, so you could do carpet in some areas, wood, or tiie in others. Big Floors usually has the cheapest that I had found for the garage deck. Didn't look at the others. You could always get the GarageDeck and then an outdoor carpet to go over it.
