bathroom subfloor seams

Everything I've read on the subfloor install., calls for quarter inch perimeter gap and eighth inch gap for the interior seams of the plywood. I'll be putting down a thin layer of grout/adhesive to fill any [out of level] areas, before topping with Durock. Should I keep this grout out of the plywood gaps?

dura rock is your subfloor......take caution in adding wood then laying durarock on top....it will settle
