BAthroom Subfloor

In order for me to make the changes to my bathroom (moving toilet and vanity along the joist) I need to remove my subfloor. I cut a test hole in the floor and noticed that my toilet drain runs parallel to the wall directly under it fro about 8 ft to the stack. The wall appears to be supported only by the subfloor. There is a 36 inch gap between the joist in the bathroom and the joist in the adjoing bedroom. There are some vertical 2x2s that appear to be supporting the subfloor. How will I support the new subfloor along the bathroom wall? Will removing the subfloor compromise the structure of the bathroom wall?

Thanks

36" is a big gap. Are you sure the joist isnt just cut out for the pipe in the small area that you are looking?

After further investigation it looks like the builder put perpendicular 2x8 braces flat against the floor between the 2 joists. I should be able to cut the subfloor over top of these so that I leave something to nail my new subfloor into.

Sorry I have no pictures...I hope the digital camera will be in my stocking on Christmas morning.
