I'm remodeling a basement with a steeply sloped, painted slab floor. I need to level it in a few places. I want to maintain precious inches of headroom. I'll use common cementitious self-leveling patch in areas where i can easily grind paint off. But to avoid grinding the entire floor i want to build a subfloor but it will have to transition from 1/4" (or less?) to 2 1/2". I planned use Delta FL with landscapers cloth underneath for sweaks then layers of OSB/Plywood to acheive appropriate heights. And then use some kind of leveling compund on top to transition the seams. i plan to put closed cell pad and carpet throughout. Any and all advice, ideas, info are welcome. Thanks
