Basement Shower Problem

We have a shower in the basement. The floor base appears to have been elevated by an aproximatly wood 2 X 2. I noticed the stain appearing on the bathroom rug near the corner of the shower after a shower was taken. I peeled off the vinyl mopboard in front of the shower and noticed that this wood was wet and rotting ( this is what caused the stain on the rug). What I would like to do is somehow is to seal this wood to prevent this from happening and then reinstall the mopboard. My question is--Is there something out there that I can use as a sealeant on this wood. To remove the wood would require removing the shower

What good will sealing the wood do? If it is already wet, you aren't likely to seal it now.

The bigger issue is where is the water coming from. That's the problem you should be addressing maybe.
