Basement flooring questions
I've got 4 active kids and we'll be getting a puppy soon. We're finishing a basement and wanting to find flooring that can withstand all of our elements. We have been in our house for 3 years and haven't gotten water in it yet so feel fairly safe that we won't get any.
Are there soft floors that don't off-gas like rubberized interlocking squares? I wouldn't mind bamboo if I could find it without formaldehyde. I was open to cork but read that it's not good with pets as it can absorb their urine and their nails can damage the cork. I'm not crazy about tile but would use it as a last resort. I was hoping that flooring has had more options since my last basement which was over 20 years ago. We're in the Maryland area. Thanks for any input.
