Basement Carpeting Choice
We had some water damage to our basement floor, asbestos tile yippee. I would like to use carpet tiles over the asbestos and leave it alone. Iíve read that Olefin is a good choice because it doesnít absorb moisture as much as some other types. Can anyone recommend a good brand or if there is a better material out there? Also should we put down some sort of membrane or sealer on the floor before the carpet tile ? The basement has been waterproofed. It gets not necessarily damp down there in the spring but there will be increased moisture, we intend to have the dehumidifier running. Thanks!
Those tiles will do no one any harm unless someone starts cutting them up.
Until you get that moisture under control I'd never suggest any form of carpet.
