attaching underlayment

My new 3/4" subflooring is down in the bathroom. I'll be installing grouted, thick vinyl, "fake" stone 16x16 tiles. Very simple question: Should I nail the 1/4" underlayment plywood to the subfloor all over or just keep to the joists. I'm using a box of nails called underlayment nails.

Every 4"-6" in the field and every 2" on the edges.

Thanks Rusty. That answer helps and tells me I'm glad I asked. (I'm installing Alterna tiles by the way.)
