Armstrong Alterna over slab

I'm thinking about Armtrong Alterna Tiles for my new kitchen floor- We don't want ceramic- Sounds like they can go directly on concrete slab- Anything I need to do to prep/check existing slab (I will do a moisture test)- Wondering if installing backboard over the slab would make a better surface?
