Armstrong Alterna heavy tiles in bathroom

Could I have an installer cut 16 x 16 Alterna tiles into 8 x 8s and do a grouted installation? I would like the look of a finer grid of grout lines than 12 x 12 or 16 x 16. My concern however is there seems to be a slight rounding to the factory edge and the two cut edges of each 8 x 8 would not have this. I don't know if that is important, either visually or functionally, and if it is, I don't know if there is a technique to achieve that slight rounding.
