Anyone work with or put down Lamninate Tile or Stone planks?
We are thinking about removing our Pergo wood floor in the kitchen and replacing with the Laminate Stone planks.
Anyone work with these? Assume similar to click and locking like Pergo?
I am Gregg with The Home Depot in Chicago. Way to go on your kitchen remodel. What is one of your main reasons for wanting to use a laminate flooring that looks like stone tile? The laminate stone planks are very similar to regular laminate flooring. They are installed basically the same way except you pay closer attention to aligning the patterns. Most of the companies that make this type of floor have designed them so no matter what combination of pieces you are using the patterns and colors should match, but it still takes more attention than a wood laminate. The laminate stone is a floating floor that ‘clicks’ together just like laminate wood and in the end it looks great. The down fall is that the laminate stone planks aren’t any more resistant to water than regular wood laminate flooring. I hope this information helps. If you have more specific questions let me know.-Gregg
There are a few brands that make it. Dupont being one.
I hate our Pergo wood flooring as it's lost it's luster and shine (prob our fault). I feel like it gets too dirty and it shows easily.
We didn't have a problem with moisture in our kitchen so that is a non-issue for us. I just like the stone and tile look but would prefer not to use the real stuff.
This is one that I was looking at online:
