Anybody recommend a good tile setting guide?

Looking to do my first major tile project in a bathroom. Seems there are way too many ways to cut tile ... can anybody recommend some good resources to educate myself? On-line, books, video, etc. I'm using natural stone (slate) and I have a wet saw ... looking to do this project with modern tools, not the old school way :) What other tools will I need to pick-up?

First, does you floor structure meet the required criteria for a stone tile installation? It's different from that required for ceramic tile.:)
